ault/Battery Question

It may not be what you want to hear, but if I were he, I probably would have slapped you too. I realize he's trash and you are emotional, but you did instigate the situation and provoke him. The more you behave like this, the more trouble YOU will get in, and it can affect you in a very bad way in the long run. If you want to hurt him, fine, but do it LEGALLY. Keep pursuing his child support and use whatever other agencies you need. If your friends are willing to help, you might be able to have the police nail him in a drug bust or whatever. You cannot take the law into your own hands, though.
