Should I change strings on my electric guitar if they are acoustic strings?

Nickel wound strings they don't rust. They probably are acoustic strings because they shouldn't be bronze in color, they should be silver for electric. Its harder to play with acoustic strings, its stiffer. Size 9 but I use 10's on my Gibson it gives a better bottom end sound.
