How can I connect a shotgun mic to my camcorder?

You need to use a shotgun mic with a 3.5mm jack on it. I wouldn't attempt to attach a mic with a bigger output as you may blow the camcorder's audio circuitry. There are many great quality boom mics with 3.5mm jacks, Seinnheiser manufactures lots of them.
