Why doesnt the US let the Taliban run riot inside Pakistan and Iran?

Because it [the fighting] keeps the American Mind occupied enough so that we are distracted from other things the Gov. is trying to do to us. The Gov. understands that they are now our overlords instead of our subordinates but it's easier to keep us distracted than to put down armed insurrection in the streets. If they really wanted to that mess could be cleaned up very quickly, but if they did they would only have to start something else somewhere else. I love my country, but I cannot trust this government, nor should any other patriotic American.
